Nuo gruodžio pradžios mobiliojo ryšio vartotojai pirmą kartą Lietuvoje gali apsidrausti savo mobiliuosius telefonus nuo vagystės ar netyčinio sugadinimo. Šią paslaugą teikia tik telekomunikacijų bendrovė „Bitė“, vartotojai mobiliojo ryšio įrenginius gali drausti tiek laiko, kiek pageidauja, taip pat yra galimybė drausti telefonus vykstantiems į užsienį.

Telefonų draudimą šiuo metu galima užsisakyti tik „Bitėje“. Apsidraudusiems, kurie praras ar sugadins savo mobilųjį telefoną, ir šis įvykis bus pripažintas draudiminiu, „Bitė“ suteiks naują įrenginį. O jeigu mobilusis telefonas buvo pavogtas ir be kliento žinios buvo pasinaudota paslaugomis – „Bitė“ kompensuos patirtas išlaidas iki 1,5 tūkst. litų.

Pasak C. Robbins, telefonų draudimo žalų registravimas ir tvarkymas „Bitėje“ vyksta itin greitai ir truks vos 24 valandas – tai labai trumpas terminas lyginant su tradicinėmis draudimo rūšimis. Telefono draudimo mokestis siekia nuo 6 litų mėnesiui priklausomai nuo apdrausto įrenginio.

„Bitės“ duomenimis, kas dešimtas bendrovės klientas per vieno mobiliojo telefono gyvavimo laiką jį praranda ar nepataisomai sugadina. Viešosios nuomonės ir rinkos tyrimų bendrovės „Spinter tyrimai“ šių metų spalio mėnesį atlikto tyrimo duomenimis, apie pusė (49 proc.) telefonus praradusių Lietuvos mobiliojo ryšio vartotojų teigė, kad dažniausiai telefonas pametamas. 25 proc. sakė, jog jis buvo pavogtas. Tuo tarpu 13 proc. prisipažino pamiršę telefoną viešoje vietoje, o 12 proc. teigimu, telefonas nuskendo. Mobilųjį telefoną dažniau yra linkę prarasti vyrai.
